Can any store sign up for the Retailer Reward Program?

Within the participating European markets, every ‘Bricks and Mortar’ store that is dedicated to run Magic: The Gathering demos and casual play events in a customer friendly manner is entitled to take part in this program. The local Wizards of the Coast distributor or representative will evaluate this and authorize a store’s online application.

This promotional program is also only open to retailers from the following selected countries*: Austria, Belgium, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Croatia, Cyprus, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Montenegro, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, United Kingdom, Eire, South Africa & Russia

* Other markets may join this program in the future. For the most recent list of participating markets, please check www.mymanapoints.com.

How do I recruit new players to Magic and then get them to sign up to the program?

One way to do this is by using the flyers that you can find in your kit to hand out to people; this can be on the street, at nearby schools, universities or youth clubs. You could also ask one of your players to help out handing these flyers and then give them a reward. You could also run a Magic demo day at your store, where you teach people how to play and then you sign them up to the program.
You will also find a printable pdf poster to customize on the platform www.mymanapoints.com and advertise the free sample deck out of the store.

What if I haven’t got time to do many demos?

Then why not enlist Magic Players to provide demos. If you are not able to perform demos yourself at any time, ask an existing Magic player or a judge in your store. Most players are happy to teach someone how to play their favorite game. Store credit or free Magic product is a great way to encourage your existing players to provide demos.

How can you sign up new players?

There are 2 ways to register a player, via the consumer platform www.playmagic.eu or via www.mymanapoints.com. When a new contact subscribes via www.playmagic.eu he or she will receive a voucher with a unique code after they have activated their account! With the voucher the new contact can pick up a free deck in the store. In store registrations start at www.mymanapoints.com You can hand out a free deck and the platform will automatically register your deck compensation. The new contact will not receive a unique code but he or she should activate his/her account when returning home in order for you to receive the mana points.

What should I do if someone prefers to register at home instead of via www.mymanapoints.com

Give them a learn to play CD which you can find in the kit, and then encourage them to register at home at www.playmagic.eu. After activating their account they will receive an e-mail with a unique code which they can redeem for a free deck in your store.

What is the best way to be sure that a new player returns to my store after the demo?

You should give that person a great play experience, and talk about the different play programs that you run in store. Introduce the new players to other players in your store. Magic is a social game, and players are eager to meet others they can play with.

I have signed up a newcomer and given him a deck, but he has not activated his account. Will you still compensate me for the free deck?

Yes, we will. The Retailer Reward Platform will keep track of the total number of free decks you give away as part of this program, whether this happened right after signing up someone in your store, or after someone signed up at home and came to your store with a unique code* to pick up the free deck
* the validity of the unique code will expire in case the newcomer registers at home and deletes his/her account right after receiving the e-voucher with the unique code for a free deck. You will get a notification when entering online this expired unique code

I have signed up a newcomer and given them a deck, but they have not activated his account. Will you still be rewarded with mana points?

No you will not! You should convince the newcomer to really activate his account while he will be updated about upcoming releases and promotions via mail. Offer them the possibility to play in your store and meet other Magic fans. Offer them something extra when they return and participate in their first Organized play event. You, the retailer, will be rewarded to sign up NEW deck contacts in the Wizards Event Reporter .

How do I report on the Wizards Event Reporter (WER), and what events can I report?

Whenever you have Magic Events and Activities in your store, you can (and should) report them with the WER.
Unless it is a sanctioned tournament, you only need to enter the names and DCI numbers into the program. You will find that this is easily done; the program is very easy to use.
The first 2-3 times you use the WER, you might want to look into our Walkthrough
For more information on casual play, go to http://www.wizards.com/WPN or contact your Wizards of the Coast distributor or representative.

I do run casual play events, but I do not want to run demos. Can I still participate in this program?

No, you cannot participate in this program if you choose to only run casual play events but not run Magic demonstrations. Each participating store will automatically be listed on our website as a store where newcomers can learn to play Magic and this should be truthful.

I do not run casual play events, but I do want to run demos. Can I still participate in this program?

Yes, you can participate in this program if you choose only to run the Magic demonstrations. In that case you will only be awarded Mana Points for the new activated contacts in the Magic: The Gathering E-newsletter database associated to your store. We do recommend you run WPN Casual play events. For more information contact info@mymanapoints.com or for the UK, Eire & South Africa contact wizards@hasbro.co.uk.

Can I have a list of all the new contacts I brought into the program?

Yes, the online platform offers the possibility to view and download personal data of the new contacts you brought into the program provided that these persons agreed to share their data with their local store at the time of registration. Go to www.mymanapoints.com and select “My players” in the menu.

I can see the new contacts I brought into the program, but some are written in italic and some are underlined. What does that mean?

A contact that did not activate their account so far will be shown in italic. Remember only activated contacts generate mana points!
A contact that did not yet collect their gift will be underlined.

How will I know how many Mana Points I have accumulated at any given time?

You will have a personal account on www.mymanapoints.com which gives you access to all the information related to your account including your points total. When you redeem points, these points will be deducted from your outstanding points total.

When will I get the rewards that I have achieved?

Once you have submitted your redemption order online, your selected distributor or WotC representative will incorporate your order in the following shipment of product to your store.

I disagree with the amount of points that you say I have earned. What can I do about it?

Should you want to make an appeal, this should be done in writing or via email to info@mymanapoints.com. For the UK, Eire & South Africa please email wizards@hasbro.co.uk Please allow up to 30 days for your appeal to be processed. All appeal decisions are final.

I can earn mana points through the campaign option but what is a campaign?

Wizards of the Coast, at different times will launch some special marketing actions which will be linked to the stores participating in the retailer reward program. These actions will generate new possibilities for you to earn mana points on top of the fixed parameters. The actions will always be advertised on www.mymanapoints.com and most of the times also via other means and will be limited in time.
Some campaigns can also provide the opportunity to redeem special items (POP materials, uncut sheets, etc…) with mana points generated through a specific campaign only. If that would be the case this will be communicated clearly.

Do I get points for organizing activities for other games than Magic: The Gathering?

No, at this point this promotional program only offers rewards for running Magic: The Gathering demos and casual play events. Wizards of the Coast can offer special events and specific brand related promotions throughout the year where extra points can be earned.

What happens to the outstanding mana Points after the cut off date of 10th December 2010?

You can redeem your points whenever you like before the cut off date once a year, after which some or all of your points will expire.

Here are the cut-off rules, as a store you are either in category A or B depending on your recent activity:

A) Stores which generated a minimum of 1 mana point the last 3 months
> lose all points > 360 and the rest is transferred to the next period.

B) Stores that did not generate one single manapoint in the last 3 months
> lose all their points

I’m an Internet only Retailer. Can I become involved in this promotional program?

No, this promotional program is only open to retailers that operate ‘bricks and mortar’ shops that can be visited by any member of the public.

My account has been blocked, what should I do?

Whenever you enter a wrong unique code for the third time your account will be blocked automatically. You will need to contact your Wizards of the Coast distributor or representative to have it released.
